It didn’t hit anything immovable, I take it. Did you? Or were your injuries due to impact and tumbling?
I watched my bike bounce off a guard rail once after the front end washed out on gravel, extensively damaging the front end. I was sliding by on my stomach Superman style, head first. Fortunately my trajectory took me past the guard rail – a head-on hard stop would have been worse for me than the bike.

I think men’s sexual attraction to women follows a sort of S-curve shape.
I agree that the idea of a boner threshold is commonly used, but I think it doesn’t always get factored into the simplified memes, such as the “woman walks into a bar”. If the woman is ugly, she might very well be below the threshold of all the men in the bar.
My effective sexual attraction is an inverted U. At some point, my attraction rises rapidly and saturates. Much beyond that I start getting intimidated. So while the attraction is high, it gets canceled by inhibition. More proof of my betahood.
